Deleting your Crybell data
Crybell has no accounts and keeps your baby's log on your phone, so you delete your data yourself in the app, without asking us. Removing expired data on the server can take up to a day longer than the times below.
Everything on this phone
- Open Crybell → Settings → Privacy → "Delete all data" and confirm with "Delete everything". Stop listening first.
- This deletes the baby's profile, every night, cry episode, label and log entry, every cry clip and your settings. A phone connected to a shared log is disconnected first (see below).
- Uninstalling Crybell also deletes all of its data from the phone. A copy in Android backup is kept according to Google's backup rules.
Shared log
- Settings → Shared log → "Disconnect this phone" at once removes this phone from the shared log on the server and deletes its anonymous Firebase account. The phone keeps its log as it is.
- The changes this phone sent before stay, encrypted, for the other phones and are deleted within 15 days. When the last phone leaves, the shared log is deleted from the server; its last encrypted pieces go within 15 days.
- A shared log that no phone uses any more is deleted by itself after 90 days without activity.
- The server holds only end-to-end encrypted entries and random identifiers, so we cannot find or read your shared log. That is why it is deleted from the app.
Crash reports and ads
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) are deleted after 90 days. Turn them off in Settings → Privacy → "Send crash reports".
- Google keeps ad data according to its own rules (<https://policies.google.com/technologies/retention>). Use Settings → Privacy → "Ad privacy settings", and reset or delete the advertising ID in your phone's settings.
